Job summary

MasTec Renewables, comprised of Wanzek Construction, oversees subcontract administration for utility-scale solar and wind projects. The Subcontracts Specialist acts as the primary onsite commercial contact, ensuring subcontractor compliance, performance, and risk mitigation across mobilization to closeout, and collaborates with PM, Construction, Procurement, Commercial, and Legal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 5+ years administering subcontracts on large projects
• 3+ years field-based contract/subcontract management experience
• Experience with subcontract negotiations, change management, claims administration, and dispute resolution
• Experience with Procore, Viewpoint Vista, Oracle, or similar construction management systems

Responsibilities

• Administer subcontract agreements from mobilization through project closeout
• Serve as onsite commercial representative for subcontractors
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with contract obligations, scope, schedule, and terms
• Draft, review, and issue notices related to performance, delays, or changes
• Lead commercial meetings with subcontractors to review contract compliance and risk mitigation
• Assist leadership in identifying and mitigating contractual and commercial risks
• Support project closeout activities including final accounts and lien releases
• Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement initiatives
