Job summary

LCI at Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the base store operation. You will supervise up to 15 personnel, including some who are visually impaired, coordinating with the store manager, staff, customers and vendors.

This role requires knowledge of warehouse operations or retail management, plus familiarity with merchandising, pricing, inventory control and customer service.

Qualifications

• Responsible for all daily store operations in the Store Manager's absence (ordering, pricing, merchandising, inventory, safety, cleanliness).
• Store organization and cleanliness.
• Implementing corporate planograms and maintaining visuals for end caps and seasonal displays.
• Maintaining 98% on-shelf stock by directing subordinates.
• Training and supporting staff to maximize store operations and customer satisfaction.
• Maintaining relationships with corporate functions (Accounting, Payroll, IT, Purchasing, Pricing, Manufacturing, Distribution, E-Commerce).
• Conducting daily and weekly huddle notes.
• Time-card submission and maintenance.
• Improvements toward retail goals (sales, stock turn, inventory integrity).
• Clear written and verbal communication with employees and management.
• Assist in annual reviews for manager approval.
• Deliver superior customer service to customers and vendors.
• Oversee ordering/receiving with Receiving Coordinator and Customer Service.
• Sales reconciliation, delivery coordination, merchandising, and inventory integrity.
• Use of disciplinary system for underperformers.
• In the manager's absence, assume all store manager functions.
• Back-up delivery driver when needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 15 staff, including some who are blind or disabled, under guidance from the store manager.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, or extensive retail management.
• Knowledge of sales or marketing is required.
• Experience managing subordinates is essential.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
