Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an onsite Storage Engineer to join a government consulting firm supporting a mission-critical federal program based in Fort Belvoir, VA. The role focuses on ensuring data availability, infrastructure reliability, and continuity of operations in a highly secure environment.

Responsibilities include managing storage infrastructure, coordinating with security teams, and driving automation to optimize performance and uptime.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in supporting enterprise storage environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with replication, snapshots, and storage provisioning.
• Experience supporting Linux and Windows servers with attached storage.
• Experience with backup and recovery technologies.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and hold an active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise data storage infrastructure to ensure system reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to support data protection initiatives and storage architecture improvements.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure issues impacting storage availability, recovery operations, or application performance.
• Support lifecycle management activities, including platform enhancements, capacity planning, upgrades, and maintenance efforts.
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations through automation and proactive monitoring practices.
