Job summary

ECC is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer for the Portland Tank Repairs project. The SSHO will implement and oversee the SSHP, monitor construction safety, conduct inspections, and lead safety meetings with management and subcontractors to maintain a proactive safety culture on site.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, OSHA 30-Hour, EM 385-1-1 familiarity, and at least one year of onsite SSHO experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of onsite SSHO experience or designated alternate SSHO experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training; familiarity with EM 385-1-1 standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP) for the project.
• Monitor daily construction activities to ensure safety compliance and document findings.
• Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training activities.
• Investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions with project leadership.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions exist and coordinate corrective actions with management.
