Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, based in Seattle, seeks a Specimen Processing Services Specialist I to perform blood specimen processing and venipuncture for patients, donors and staff. The role emphasizes efficient patient flow, accurate data entry, and teamwork across departments.

The position is fully onsite at the South Lake Union Campus, 1.0 FTE, with a daily schedule and optional weekend coverage. Training and career development are provided with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Washington state MA/Phlebotomist certification preferred or sponsored by Fred Hutch if competency
• Proficient with email and data entry in Windows environment.
• Ability to differentiate colors and pass color vision screen.

Responsibilities

• Performs blood specimen processing and venipuncture.
• Learn computer skills and utilize Windows-based data entry.
• Manage specimen processing including centrifugation, aliquoting and sendouts.
• Support patient check-in and scheduling for blood draws.
• Cover shifts as needed and adapt to changing workloads.
