Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking an entry-level Shared Resources Specialist I – Clinical Research Specimen Processing to support investigators and process clinical research specimens in accordance with SOPs. The role emphasizes strict chain of custody and data integrity.

You will operate laboratory instrumentation, record data, and prepare charts and summaries, with opportunities to learn new techniques and contribute to ongoing research projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field is required.
• Associate degree with 1+ year lab experience or GED with 3+ years.
• Willing to learn new protocols and adapt to biosafety standards.
• Experience with MS Office applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical research specimens processing per SOPs.
• Maintain chain of custody and accurate data records.
• Operate lab equipment and assist maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with investigators and external users.
• Assist in SOP development and staff training.
• Support administrative tasks and basic billing.
• Provide regulatory and compliance support.
