Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Specialized Instructional Coach to support teachers in delivering specially designed instruction across KIPP DC schools. The role emphasizes leadership in coaching, data-driven PD, and case management for IEP goals, with an anticipated start date and an on-site work model.

Required qualifications include a Master’s in special education or equivalent, plus at least five years of school-based experience and IEP expertise.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in special education or related field.
• Five+ years of successful school-based special education experience.
• Certified in special education or equivalent.
• Experience with IEP goals and progress monitoring.
• Experience coaching or leading others is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and professional development (60%): analyze teacher and student performance data to design and facilitate PD.
• Review student performance data to ensure proficiency and guide IEP goals.
• Assist teachers with coaching, modeling, and refining instructional practices for students with disabilities.
• Conduct co-observations and instructional walkthroughs with school teams and Director of Student Support.
• Manage casework including IEP progress reports, SEP meetings, and high-quality IEPs.
