Job summary

KIPP Public Schools Northern California seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to support diverse learners and develop IEPs in line with state and federal requirements. The role emphasizes restorative practices, collaboration with the Leadership Team, and culturally responsive teaching.

Qualifications

• Hold a B.A./B.S. from a regionally accredited institution.
• Hold a valid Special Education teaching credential, or eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit or Short Term Staff Permit.
• Experience teaching students with demographics similar to our student community.
• Commitment to anti-racist education and equity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage development, proposal, and implementation of IEPs in accordance with law.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop measurable annual goals for students.
• Provide specialized academic instruction and other services through co-teaching, push-in, pull-out, or small groups.
• Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and inform instruction.
• Develop daily and long-term lesson plans aligned to IEPs and school mission.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to differentiate instruction.
• Train stakeholders to support delivery of instruction for modified curricula.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom with restorative practices and SEL.
• Communicate with staff, families, and other stakeholders about IEPs and progress.
• Attend professional development and communities of practice to grow as an educator.
• Update and maintain students’ special education records and reports.
