Job summary

LatinosIndy in Indianapolis is seeking a 1099 independent contractor interpreter to provide onsite interpreting for LEP clients across a variety of settings.

This role offers flexible sessions with the potential to expand your interpreting practice, working in a fast-paced environment while upholding ethics and professionalism.

Must have interpreting qualifications, certifications, and a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both source and target languages; strong verbal communication.
• Read/write in requested languages; accurate interpretation.
• Excellent listening and retention for high-accuracy interpretation.
• Degree or certifications in interpreting practices; relevant training.
• Completion of Bridging The Gap or accredited medical interpreting course.
• National Medical Interpreter Certification by CCHI or NBCMI preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
