Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking Spanish Onsite Contract Interpreters in the Minneapolis area to facilitate accurate English-Spanish communication on site and remotely where needed.

Contract interpreters must meet requirements, including language proficiency, evaluations, background checks, and the ability to travel to assignments. Independent contractor relationship with potential for diverse client work across healthcare and education settings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish.
• Successful completion of language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Submission of a current résumé in English during the application process.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to travel to and from accepted onsite assignments.
• Health and immunization requirements may apply per client/site requirements.
• Background, security, fingerprinting, and/or drug screening may be required for certain assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an accepted assignment.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client confidentiality, privacy, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security policies (HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA) and client requirements.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, healthcare professionals, and other participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject-matter knowledge needed for accurate interpretation.
