Propio Language Services is actively seeking Spanish-on-site contract interpreters in the Columbus, OH metro area to facilitate accurate, real-time communication across healthcare, education, and other settings.

Qualified candidates will be professionally proficient in English and Spanish, have interpreting experience, and be able to travel to assigned sites. This independent contractor role emphasizes ethics, confidentiality, and adherence to client requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation.
• Successful completion of language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Résumé in English during application.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to reliably travel to onsite assignments.
• Health/immunization requirements may be required.
• Background, security, fingerprinting, and/or drug screening may be required.
• Agreement to confidentiality and professional ethics requirements.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
• Experience in medical, legal, community, educational, or social-services interpreting.
• Relevant interpreter training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
• Comply with confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, and professionals.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject-matter knowledge for assignments.
