Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Software Engineering Graduate Intern for the Software Process and Architecture Department (SPAD) in the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This 100% onsite internship in El Segundo, CA offers hands-on software development across space-centric projects, with mentorship and collaboration across disciplines.

You will work with Java, C/C++, and Python in a fast-paced team; security clearance is required and US citizenship is necessary.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment full-time at an accredited college/university pursuing a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related program.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and return to degree program full-time after completion.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing.
• Experience in two or more common programming languages such as Java, C/C++, and Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; US Citizenship required.
• Academic transcripts are required.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for a variety of space-centric projects
• Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners
• Apply standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks
• Analyze project software development processes for best practices, use of industry standards
• Training and mentorship will be provided
