Job summary

RTX is seeking an intern in San Diego, CA, onsite, entering their senior or post-graduate year by Summer 2027. The Software organization develops software for missiles, launchers, radars, and naval systems, with real-time and control processing.

You will join fast-paced agile teams, learn modern software engineering practices, and contribute to testing and integration efforts. The role offers a pathway to learn DevSecOps tools and gain experience across the software lifecycle on mission-critical

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 90 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.
• Candidates should have good writing skills to observe, capture precise information and review content for accuracy and clarity.
• Experience with Java and Linux environments.
• Experience with Code Development Tools: VSCode, Maven, JUnit5, Mockito.

Responsibilities

• Support software development lifecycle in fast-paced agile teams for mission-critical systems.
• Assist with unit, integration, and regression testing across software components.
• Learn DevSecOps practices and tools such as Jira, GitLab, Confluence, etc.
• Contribute to software development for systems including missiles, launchers, radars, and control processing.
