Job summary

MSC Industrial Direct Co.,Inc. is seeking an Onsite Service Specialist to be stationed at a large strategic account in Chicago, IL.

You will support the customer facility by assisting with procurement and order placement and by managing MSC ControlPoint Solutions to drive value. Responsibilities include handling quotations, sourcing, and logging cost savings statistics, collaborating with the Category Team, and participating in plant meetings and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to improve shop floor

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years inbound/outbound sales, outside sales, storeroom or inventory management, or customer service experience required.
• Metalworking knowledge a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with order placement, quoting, sourcing, and logging of cost savings statistics.
• Manage MSC ControlPoint Solutions (Vendor Managed Inventory, Vending, Storeroom) and related processes.
• Determine sourcing strategy for key projects with Category Team support.
• Participate in plant/production meetings and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
• Collaborate with the account team to maximize customer satisfaction and future projects.
• Resolve on-site product and service issues with sales-related solutions using multiple sources.
