Job summary

WeldFit, headquartered in Houston, TX, is seeking a Service Technical Writer to develop, document, and improve SOPs, work instructions, and service documentation. The role collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, HR and Management to convert complex workflows into clear, user-friendly documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of technical writing, procedure writing, or business process documentation.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, fabrication, oil and gas, or field service environment preferred.
• Experience creating SOPs and controlled documentation.
• Experience supporting quality management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, edit, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, policies, forms, checklists, and technical documentation.
• Create documentation supporting manufacturing, quality, service, engineering, safety, and general business operations.
• Develop process maps, flowcharts, training materials, and visual aids for operational excellence.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation for all levels of employees.
• Ensure documentation is standardized, accurate, and aligned with company objectives.
• Collaborate with department leaders to document current-state processes and identify improvements.
• Support audits by providing documented procedures and records.
