Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for the Avionics Test Engineering team. You will translate requirements into hardware and software specifications and guide verification activities across the life cycle.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, risk management, and process improvement to shorten test times while ensuring high quality and regulatory compliance including CE RoHS awareness

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience with manufacturing Test equipment in a production/service center.
• Knowledge of CE Mark and RoHS preferred.
• Experience in requirements development and decomposition of systems level requirements.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Experience with Aviation products.

Responsibilities

• Support certification compliance with CE Mark and RoHS by capturing requirements, analysis and testing.
• Participate in program planning and risk management from bid to deployment.
• Develop Test Systems requirements and validation procedures for Test Solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams and external end users/customers.
• Primary interface coordinating with Test Engineering Hardware and Software.
• Integrator working with multiple disciplines to deliver a solution.
• Perform Verification and Validation of Test Solutions.
• Perform trade study and market analysis to benchmark industry leading Test Solutions.
• Support Test time reduction and analyze test failures.
• Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers.
