Job summary

ASML Germany GmbH in Wilton, CT seeks a Senior Optical Engineer to advance optical sensing solutions for next‑gen lithography systems. You’ll design, test, and optimize photonic sensor systems and collaborate across software, electronics and manufacturing teams.

You’ll apply strong analysis, MATLAB/Python skills, and hands‑on experimentation to deliver robust sensor performance and validated test plans, in a fast-paced, onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, optics, photonics or related field.
• Master's degree in physics, optics, photonics or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in optical engineering or photonic system development.
• Experience with optical alignment, imaging systems, detectors or lab testing environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop optical and photonic sensor systems for semiconductor equipment.
• Build, align, test, and characterize complex optical systems and detector assemblies.
• Analyze performance data to identify issues and improve sensor functionality.
• Lead technical investigations to determine root causes and develop solutions.
• Develop and validate signal processing algorithms and test plans.
• Collaborate with software, electronics, manufacturing and system engineering teams.
• Communicate findings clearly to engineering and business stakeholders.
