Job summary
The Squires Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technical delivery, turning requirements into clear backlog items. This hands-on BA will lead conversations, refine backlogs, and ensure well-defined acceptance criteria for the development team.
The role is 100% onsite in Annapolis with an on-site cafeteria and free parking. Local candidates preferred; US Citizens required by contract.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting software development or technology delivery environments.
- Strong Azure DevOps experience; Jira experience is a plus.
- Experience creating and managing Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and backlog refinement.
- Experience leading User Story Mapping sessions.
- Experience facilitating or participating in 3 Amigos sessions with BA, Development, and QA teams.
- Strong business process analysis and process mapping experience.
- Experience working directly with developers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex or ambiguous business needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate with senior leadership.
- Experience with Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar process-mapping tools.
- Familiarity with APIs, databases, reporting solutions, and modern web applications is a plus.
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to take ownership of assigned work.
