Thomas Built Buses, Inc. is seeking a highly organized Receiving and Planning Coordinator for the 2nd shift in Mount Holly, NC.

You will manage inbound/outbound shipments, perform supplier and material-tracking duties, and ensure detailed shift handoffs to the first shift to maintain production continuity. The role requires strong experience in receiving, inventory control, and ERP systems (SAP/IMS), with a focus on urgent material issues and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

BS/BA and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience in receiving, inventory control, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing operations, including material shortages and expedited shipments.
Ability to prioritize critical issues independently during second-shift operations and communicate status through detailed shift handoffs.
Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP or IMS.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Responsibilities

Serve as the second-shift point of contact for critical material shortages, expedited shipments, and urgent delivery issues impacting production.
Investigate missing materials, shipment delays, and receiving discrepancies, coordinating resolution with carriers, suppliers, planners, and logistics personnel as needed.
Document and communicate all open shortages, expedites, and receiving-related issues through a detailed shift handoff to first shift.
Coordinate and track inbound and outbound shipments, including critical and expedited deliveries.
Process and maintain purchase orders, invoices, debits, chargebacks, and material transfer transactions.
Monitor freight shortages, investigate discrepancies, file freight claims, and coordinate resolution with carriers and planners.
Manage ASN compliance, including non-compliance tracking and chargeback administration.
Maintain receiving documentation and reports, including bills of lading, packing slips, shipment records, past-due reports, and weekly transfer reports.
Locate and verify incoming materials, support dock operations, and ensure proper material routing.
Monitor air freight activity and maintain shipment tracking records.
Support inventory accuracy through transaction processing and audit compliance activities.
Open Material Transfers from various TMP locations based on quotes/requirements.
Provide materials support to shop floor team leaders and supervisors.
Review inventory management system to ensure sufficient on-hand quantities and reorder as needed.
Work stock replenishment system (update reason codes and answers).
Create vendor Charge Backs.
Review and order parts due to spec changes.
Control excess inventory and process material disposition analysis.
Process work orders for Parts Distribution Center and truck requirements.
Work with Accounts Payable and vendor to ensure timely payments, and to clear vendor debits.
Assist Corporate LCM group with materials requirements for upcoming Changeover & PreSeries.
Review and expedite Major components.
Assist CAE with Mt Holly TMP schedule, string of pearls, plant constraints.
