Job summary

Brobston Group is seeking a Junior Site Reliability Engineer to help maintain trust-worthy systems in Seattle. The role emphasizes proactive monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and improving observability and operational processes.

This onsite position requires working five days per week in Seattle, collaborating with software engineering and infrastructure teams to boost reliability. The ideal candidate has a foundational SRE background, experience with monitoring tools,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
Foundational knowledge of site reliability engineering practices and incident management.
Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, or Elasticsearch.
Basic proficiency in programming or scripting (Python, Go, Bash, or Java).
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
On-site Seattle requirement, five days a week (Sunday–Thursday).

Responsibilities

Monitor systems and dashboards to identify and respond to performance or availability anomalies.
Participate in incident response, troubleshoot issues, mitigate outages, and restore service.
Investigate incident root causes and document findings to prevent recurrence.
Improve monitoring, logging, alerting, automation, and reliability processes.
Support SLO/SLI tracking, CI/CD improvements, and operational documentation.
Collaborate with software engineering and infrastructure teams to improve system resilience and scalability.
