Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Safety Specialist I-III to own safety within our sites, conduct risk assessments, and coach teams to prevent incidents. You will lead inspections, collaborate with stakeholders, and monitor safety data to drive continual improvements.

The role requires knowledge of safety regulations, strong communication, and flexibility to work irregular hours and travel up to 25% as needed. This is an onsite position within Entergy's safety function.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of construction and general industry safety regulations.
• Ability to observe and engage with employees and contract partners.
• Investigation/RCA with tools such as TapRoot, Cause Mapping, Fishbone, Five whys, etc.
• Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends.
• Ability to interact with customers and members of the public in a pleasant and tactful manner.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of safety programs in accordance with management system elements.
• Conduct training as necessary to ensure applicable rules, procedures, and expectations are understood.
• Engage with employees and contract partners providing immediate coaching on safe and unsafe conditions observed.
• Perform field and site inspections, document deficiencies, and develop sustainable solutions to prevent repeat findings.
• Participate in the incident investigation process including root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions.
• Reinforce safe work expectations in accordance with applicable laws, rules, procedures, and expectations.
• Review safety related data and metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective actions to address any issues identified.
• Stop work if there is any unsafe condition.
