Job summary

Voyager Industries is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager to lead the development and management of the Safety Program across all locations. This hands-on role promotes safe work practices and ensures regulatory compliance.

You will conduct inspections, oversee training for equipment operators, track safety metrics, and foster a proactive safety culture. Travel between Voyager locations is required to support operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, or related field preferred; equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered.
• Three or more years of workplace safety experience preferred, with manufacturing or industrial experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA/MNOSHA requirements and general industry safety practices.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and employee training preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification and Train-the-Trainer qualifications preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve Voyager’s safety programs, policies, procedures, and AWAIR program.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MNOSHA and other safety requirements.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and Job Safety Analyses.
• Oversee training requirements for equipment operators and maintain records.
• Support programs like Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication/Right-to-Know, PPE, emergency response, machine safety.
• Track safety trends and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain safety documentation and records across locations.
