Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as Safety Specialist, Safety Technician, HSE, or similar in high-risk industries.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
• Familiarity with JHAs/JSAs, incident reporting, and corrective action tracking.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for field teams and leadership.
• Ability to work onsite in Brownsville, TX, with active field presence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Assist with development/review of JSAs/JHAs and safe work procedures.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Monitor field activities for OSHA compliance and safety policies.
• Identify unsafe behaviors and coordinate corrective actions; exercise stop-work authority.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with supervisors and contractors to promote safe practices.
• Assist with permit-to-work procedures for high-risk activities.
• Maintain safety documentation such as inspection and training records.
