Job summary

SLSCO Ltd. Federal Services Division is seeking a Field Safety Specialist for a federal design-build project in the Laredo, Texas area. The role supports the SSHO and field leadership by identifying hazards, tracking corrective actions, delivering training, and maintaining safety records in a dynamic field environment.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in construction safety, OSHA 30, EM 385-1-1 familiarity, and strong communication skills to engage crews and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction field safety experience, preferably heavy civil or infrastructure.
• Experience on federal construction projects is preferred; SSHO not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English; able to train crews.

Responsibilities

• Support APP, AHAs, and project safety requirements under SSHO supervision.
• Report hazards, inspections, and corrective actions; maintain safety records.
• Deliver training and conduct site orientations and toolbox talks.
• Observe work for conformance; document findings and follow up with supervision.
• Enter observations into tracking system; verify closure with SSHO.
• Assist with incident investigations and prepare related reports.
