Job summary

Aleut Federal is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to plan, manage and support ES&H for assigned projects at various sites including Washington, DC. The role requires on-site presence, coordination with project leadership and client reps, and responsibility for AHAs, inspections, and safety training.

Minimum seven to ten years in construction safety and five years in general industry safety are expected, with required EM 385-1 and OSHA 30 certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Construction, Health & Safety or equivalent with IH cross training.
• Current OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety Training.
• EM 385-1 Training.
• Valid First Aid and CPR.
• Construction Quality Manager (CQM) certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and ensure compliance across all project activities.
• Manage safety programs for assigned projects and act as site safety authority including subs.
• Lead AHAs development and communicate hazards and controls to workers.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings; provide OSHA and company training.
• Maintain safety documentation: APP, AHAs, permits, inspections, and reports.
• Investigate incidents, conduct audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, QC Manager and client representatives; ensure safety requirements are met.
