Job summary

Midwest Construction Group seeks a Safety & Training Partner in Zeeland, MI, with travel to active sites. You will partner with site leaders to coach safe work practices, lead toolbox talks, and develop practical training materials for field teams.

You will conduct on-site coaching, support pre-task planning, and oversee safety program administration while ensuring OSHA compliance and continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with field exposure preferred.
• 2–3+ years in a safety-related role or strong hands-on safety leadership.
• Strong understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety practices.
• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 500, CHST, or CSP preferred.
• Excellent communication and teaching skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Field Partnership & Coaching: build relationships with Site Superintendents, project teams, and subcontractors; coach teams on hazard recognition and safe planning.
• Jobsite Safety Leadership: conduct regular visits, identify hazards, discuss solutions, and reinforce expectations.
• Training & Instruction: lead safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and onboarding for new employees and subcontractors.
• Safety Program, Compliance & Administration: support OSHA compliance, maintain records, and track observations and metrics.
• Culture & Continuous Improvement: promote shared ownership of safety and continuous practice improvements.
