Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Southwest Michigan team in Portage, MI. This on-site, permanent role offers hands-on safety experience across industrial environments, with mentorship from senior safety leaders and a clear path to ownership of safety functions.

The ideal candidate is an early-career safety professional or recent graduate with OSHA knowledge, a safety-related degree or internship, and a readiness to work at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Safety-related degree, coursework, internship/co-op experience, or 1-5 years of relevant safety experience.
• Foundational understanding of OSHA and occupational safety principles.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update site- and project-specific safety programs.
• Develop and update Job Safety Analyses and task-specific hazard plans.
• Conduct and document job-site and shop safety inspections.
• Identify hazards and develop corrective actions.
• Follow through to ensure deficiencies are resolved.
• Develop and deliver safety training and maintain compliance records.
• Conduct project and job-site orientations.
• Provide regulatory guidance to field supervision and employees.
• Investigate incidents and accidents and complete required reporting.
• Track and report safety and health metrics.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable OSHA and local, state, and federal requirements.
• Communicate customer- and project-specific safety expectations to field teams.
• Support PPE and safety-supply initiatives.
• Maintain safety documentation and SDS information.
• Support confined-space and industrial-hygiene activities as needed.
