Job summary

Sigma Design is seeking a Robot Technician for a day shift to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of robotic systems. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and control-system faults and restoring equipment with minimal downtime.

You will establish SOPs, document procedures, and serve as the primary technical contact in the field. The position requires at least 2 years of related experience, a technical degree or equivalent, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, or operating robotic or automated systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems using a structured approach.
• Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, sensors, actuators, motors, and industrial controls.
• Experience with robotics/automation and related tooling is preferred.
• Experience using diagnostic tools, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Linux experience helpful for simple diagnostics and scripting.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation and SOPs.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components.
• Troubleshoot electrical, software, and controls issues to identify root causes.
• Execute repairs, adjustments, and component replacements as per procedures.
• Develop and refine SOPs, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting workflows.
• Serve as technical contact for field robotics systems and provide guidance to site personnel.
• Ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures and correct deviations.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to troubleshoot and improve systems.
• Provide feedback on performance, reliability, and potential design improvements.
• Assist with installation, setup, commissioning, shutdown, and relocation activities.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions.
• Support safe operation and maintain a clean work area; follow security policies.
