Job summary

HomeFirst seeks a Temp Resident Advocate in San Jose, CA to manage day-to-day on-site operations for the EIH Cherry program. The role focuses on direct service, safety, intake, housing plan development, and on-site workshops, with responsibilities spanning emergency response and client-centered care.

The position is non-exempt, temporary full-time, Swing/Day shifts, at $28.11 hourly, reporting to the Program Manager. HomeFirst emphasizes trauma-informed care and community collaboration.

Qualifications

• AA degree (or equivalent of 2 years of higher education).
• Sensitivity to the needs of unhoused individuals.
• Experience working with unhoused population.

Responsibilities

• Direct Service: oversee care and safety of participants and guests; enforce EIH guidelines and site rules; welcome guests and check in/out using HMIS; document services within 3 business days; complete intake and housing plans; provide direct guest support and crisis management; lead workshops on financial literacy, tenant rights, resume building and credit repair; ensure confidentiality and incident reporting; perform site maintenance and supply management; ensure safety and compliance.
