Job summary

EDF power solutions North America seeks a skilled Area Technical Specialist to split time between fieldwork and training duties. You will assist and train crews in troubleshooting, crane calling, and specialized repairs across wind, solar, storage, and transmission projects.

Travel to multiple sites is required and adherence to safety policies is essential. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, reading schematics, and ongoing skill development in extreme weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of technical experience in the renewable energy industry.
• Ability to read & comprehend schematic drawings.
• Good oral and written communication skills, including MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work at heights and in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist and train field crews in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Lead projects requiring special skills and acquire/maintain specialized abilities.
• Travel to other sites to support Site managers as needed.
• Perform R&R and in-situ repair of major components; maintain safety procedures.
