Job summary

Southend Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Regulatory and Compliance Pharmacy Technician to ensure operations stay compliant with all laws, regulations, and standards. The role focuses on quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, directly impacting patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience in regulatory, compliance, or compounding environment.
• Valid pharmacy technician license and relevant certifications (e.g., PTCB, NHA).
• Experience monitoring and maintaining compliance with USP 795, 797, and 800.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and guidelines (FDA, DEA, HIPAA, TSBP).
• Proven ability to identify compliance risks or deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Proficiency with compliance and pharmacy management software (DocuSign, Simplifi 797, Microsoft Excel/Word).

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal pharmacy audits for Texas State Board of Pharmacy inspections and other reviews.
• Identify and document compliance risks or deviations; prepare discrepancy and incident reports.
• Monitor inventory and controlled substances; implement diversion prevention strategies.
• Ensure documentation meets audit and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current on evolving pharmacy laws; provide staff updates and education.
• Collaborate with management on incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
