Job summary

Paleovalley and Wild Pastures is seeking a Quality Control Technician to act as the primary onsite QA representative at the Marysville warehouse. You will perform inspections, collect samples, and manage nonconformances to ensure compliance with FDA/USDA requirements and company standards.

You will maintain records in Acumatica, coordinate with the QA team, and drive improvements in quality processes while working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. This role is onsite and paid hourly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, technical training, or coursework in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in food quality control, quality assurance, food safety, food manufacturing, distribution quality, or related regulated environment.
• Strong working knowledge of food safety, quality, sanitation, GMPs, and applicable quality requirements in regulated environments.
• Ability to apply specifications, SOPs, and quality standards to evaluate routine conditions and escalate when needed.
• Strong inspection, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience documenting defects, temperature deviations, and nonconformances.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite Quality & Food Safety resource for the assigned warehouse, applying standards to identify, document, and elevate quality concerns.
• Perform routine quality inspections of incoming, stored, returned, and outbound products and shipments, including temperature, packaging, labels, and lot information.
• Collect product samples and coordinate shipment to approved laboratories for testing.
• Initiate quality holds or quarantine when necessary and manage documentation and disposition decisions.
• Maintain accurate quality records in Acumatica and other approved systems; identify trends requiring follow-up.
• Support traceability, recalls, corrective actions, and audit preparation under supervisor guidance.
• Observe adherence to quality and food safety requirements and escalate gaps for training or follow-up.
• Identify trends and recommend improvements to onsite quality processes and documentation.
