Job summary

Colonna’s Shipyard Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist – Document Control to ensure quality through testing, analysis, and process improvements within the quality management system.

You will manage document control, coordinate audits, and maintain calibration programs. This full-time, onsite role requires a bachelor’s degree with 3 years QA, proficiency in data management, NAVSEA standards, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) plus 3 years in QA or related field.
• Strong knowledge of NAVSEA standards and calibration/QMS requirements.
• Ability to access government databases and read complex specifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data/reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Generate Test and Inspection Plans and coordinate checkpoints with shops and customers.
• Maintain CAR program, review for compliance, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage equipment calibration program and facility calibrations.
• Schedule trainings and audits; support continuous improvements to QMS.
• Provide administrative support for the department.
• Manage quality records for weld joints and ensure proper submittals.
