Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Senior Propulsion Test Engineer to architect, build, and operate propulsion test infrastructure from concept through commissioning, designing mechanical structures, high-pressure fluid systems, and instrumentation for safe, repeatable engine testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Experience designing, building, commissioning, and operating complex propulsion or mechanical test systems.
• Excellent collaboration with technical and functional teams during tests.
• Strong foundation in high-pressure fluid systems, instrumentation, and high-speed data acquisition per ASME B31.3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propulsion test stands from concept through commissioning, owning mechanical, fluid, controls, and instrumentation systems.
• Design robust test infrastructure including high-pressure fluid systems and facility equipment.
• Coordinate test readiness reviews for safety, instrumentation, and limits.
• Deliver high-fidelity test data with reliable measurements for propulsion performance evaluation.
• Commission and operate test systems, including assembly, first-flow activation, shakedown, and procedures.
