Job summary

SDK Apartments is seeking a full-time Property Manager to oversee a 600+ unit multifamily community in Ashburn, Virginia. This onsite role requires leadership to drive financial and operational goals while ensuring resident satisfaction and compliance with housing regulations.

The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years in property management, including 3 years in direct management of large portfolios, with strong budgeting, leasing, and vendor management skills.

Qualifications

• 4-year undergraduate degree or blend of education and relevant experience.
• 7 years of progressively responsible property management and leasing experience, including 3 years direct management overseeing 500+ units within Virginia.
• Knowledge of landlord/tenant laws, Fair Housing, ADA, FCRA, etc.
• Understanding of financial statements and budgeting.
• Proven leadership of property teams delivering high resident retention.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with senior management and residents.
• Proficiency in RealPage, MS Office Suite, and related technologies.
• Authorized to work in the US without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Model behavior aligned with SDK values when interacting with anyone associated with SDK.
• Ensure resident satisfaction and retention by delivering best possible experience through timely responses to inquiries, complaints or work orders.
• Hire, train, lead and develop team members to meet expectations and standards.
• Ensure properties meet SDK standards for safety, aesthetics, cleanliness and appearance in all areas.
• Provide input into budgets by monitoring market information and forecasting capital projects.
• Oversee financials: revenues, rents/posting, and deposits.
• Control expenditures by identifying cost-effective processes and reducing unnecessary spending.
• Prepare status and financial reports as needed.
• Adhere to accounting policies and liaise between accounting and vendors/contractors.
• Manage relationships with vendors/contractors and ensure contractual obligations.
• Ensure compliance with multifamily regulations, building codes, inspections, and insurance certificates.
• Oversee leasing: applications, renewals, inspections, evictions, late fees.
• Analyze market trends and implement marketing/leasing strategies to hit occupancy and revenue goals.
