Job summary

Essex is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Oceanside, California to perform routine and preventive maintenance across building systems, interiors, and exteriors. You will respond to resident requests, prepare vacants for new residents, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires hands‑on repair work, on‑call availability, and adherence to maintenance schedules in a fast‑paced environment at multiple properties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of property management industry or related experience preferred.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Repair and maintain interior and exterior features of the property.
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents in a timely manner.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents (painting, cleaning, repairs).
• Ensure units meet cleanliness and functionality standards before move‑in.
• Conduct regular property inspections and preventive maintenance.
