Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and repair community buildings, grounds, and common areas to uphold the company’s high standards. You will diagnose issues, complete make-ready tasks for vacants, and coordinate with vendors while ensuring safety and code compliance.

You will also help manage preventative maintenance, assist in budgeting for repairs, and support cost-saving initiatives with efficient use of materials. A strong customer-service approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools and be skilled with tools.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to solve problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively for internal/external contacts.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; PM system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills to handle documents and financials.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair defects in community facilities per policy and safety standards.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacant units, schedule vendors, complete inspections.
• Set standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, interiors, and common areas.
• Inspect team member work and develop corrective action as needed.
• Inspect contractors and vendors to ensure quality and scope.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate budget-conscious orders.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance procedures.
• Assist Community Manager in budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-saving by repairing rather than replacing parts.
• Lead safety meetings and stay compliant with OSHA/MSDS requirements.
• Provide responsive customer service to residents and team members.
