Job summary

Greystar seeks a Maintenance Technician for the Chesapeake/Virginia Beach area to perform skilled care and preventative maintenance on property facilities, grounds, and common areas. You will diagnose issues, make repairs, and ensure units are ready for leasing while upholding safety standards and policies.

The role requires EPA refrigerant certifications and a valid driver’s license for property operations.

Qualifications

• EPA refrigerant certifications (Type 1/II or Universal) are required.
• All certifications as required by state and local jurisdictions.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on the property.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance by diagnosing defects and making repairs per policy and safety standards.
• Complete make-ready process for vacant units, including pre-move-out inspection, punch list, scheduling/vendors, and inspecting work.
• Track inventory, procure supplies, and notify maintenance supervisor when re-orders are needed.
• Document service requests timely and accurately for record-keeping.
• Assist in grounds and common area upkeep, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
• Support cost-control by repairing rather than replacing parts when feasible and using tools safely.

Education

EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling

Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property
