Job summary

Accenture Construct seeks a Safety Lead to drive site safety programs for large-scale projects. You will perform rigorous inspections, lead risk assessments, and ensure contractor compliance across multiple sites to protect workers and maintain regulatory standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety or related fields and advanced OSHA certifications. Responsibilities include training, incident investigations, and ongoing collaboration with engineers and project teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Environmental/OH&S, Construction Management, or Engineering.
• OSHA standards expertise; OSHA 500/510 certifications or related Safety credentials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections per OSHA and company standards; review JHAs, SDS, and site safety plans.
• Ensure subcontractors meet safety obligations before work commences.
• Perform pre-task safety assessments to identify hazards such as fall risks and electrical hazards.
• Lead risk assessments for high‑risk activities (scaffolding, trenching, crane ops, confined spaces) and enforce controls.
• Collaborate with engineers and superintendents to implement engineering controls (guardrails, PPE, ventilation).
• Investigate incidents with root causes, witness statements, and corrective actions.
• Maintain incident logs, perform trend analysis, and report findings to leadership and regulators.
• Conduct new hire orientations and toolbox talks on fall protection, fire prevention, and equipment safety.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs (forklift cert, lockout/tagout, hazmat handling).
• Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging workers and addressing unsafe acts promptly.
• Onsite at client sites to enable delivery and strengthen client relationships.
