Job summary

HERCO LLC is seeking a hands-on Project Manager / Technical Project Engineer to lead complex industrial projects from concept through installation and final acceptance. This role requires frequent travel (25–50%) and a strong ability to coordinate across mechanical, electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing/automation environment.
• Budgets for projects commonly exceed $250,000.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering workflows.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, project scheduling tools, and MS Office.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specs.
• Excellent communication, leadership and customer-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel 25–50% including extended stays.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects from quotation to final customer acceptance.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and resource needs.
• Lead kickoff meetings with customers and internal teams.
• Monitor progress and take corrective actions for risks or delays.
• Maintain scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide timely status updates and executive summaries.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables and documentation.
• Supervise on-site installation, startup and commissioning.
