Job summary

Hensel Phelps in the United States seeks a Project Engineer for on-site project administration and supervision of office engineers and jobsite admin. You will manage project financials, planning, scheduling, and coordinate with owners, suppliers, and trade partners.

The role requires a 4-year degree in civil/structural engineering or construction management, 2–4 years on large commercial projects, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in Civil/Structural Eng, Architecture or Construction Management.
• 2–4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects; Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents: prepare the monthly owner pay applications.
• Resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, RFIs, and questions for the architect/engineer.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap with the PM and superintendent.
• Process and estimate potential change orders and RFIs.
• Assist in development and management of the project schedule.
• Assist with BIM and VDC interpretation.
• Mentor office engineers and the jobsite administrator.
• Track and report project progress.
