Job summary

Watts is offering an on-site internship in Fort Worth, TX, within the Quality and Production Engineering team. You will support projects, assist with manufacturing layouts, and help implement process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

The role expects current students pursuing a manufacturing or mechanical engineering degree, with strong MS Office skills and a commitment to integrity and accountability.

Qualifications

• Current student (sophomore, junior or senior).
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Passionate about your work with a desire to contribute meaningfully.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity and respect in interactions.
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks.
• Understanding of laws, codes, policies, safety practices; compliant.
• Must establish employment eligibility and complete background checks.

Responsibilities

• Support Production Engineers with project execution and daily tasks.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Sustaining Engineering, and Production Supervisors on goals.
• Design and develop fixturing and tooling to improve cell efficiency.
• Create and revise factory floor layouts to optimize space and workflow.
• Observe operations on the manufacturing floor to learn and support improvements.
• Analyze cycle times to identify bottlenecks and improvements.
• Document results of changes to validate impact and support CI.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
