Job summary

Amazon Robotics RMTO is seeking a Process Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for robotics production, from prototype to production release. The role collaborates across Operations and design teams to define requirements, validate equipment, and drive cost-reduction initiatives.

The candidate will contribute to safety, quality, and cost targets, with travel about 25%. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment at the Boston-area robotics hub.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent.
• Experience managing projects in a fast pace environment.
• 1+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems.
• Experience and proven skill in written and verbal business communications.
• Experience with process analysis and optimization methods including process mapping, time studies, line balancing, or simulation tools.
• Experience in New Product Introduction environment including Phase-Gate process experience.
• Experience using industry Problem Solving Tools such as 8D, Fishbone/Cause-Effect, or CAPA methodology.
• Experience with process risk identification and mitigation tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, or Fault Tree Analysis.
• Experience reviewing and generating product/fixture designs in SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate manufacturing processes to meet product technical requirements for NPI programs from prototype through production release.
• Drive process optimization and cost reduction initiatives across scaling production lines.
• Author business cases and planning documents for capital equipment and plant infrastructure investments.
• Develop and implement technology and tooling improvements delivering impact to Safety, Quality, and Cost targets.
• Conduct process reviews including FMEA/Hazard assessments for production readiness.
• Travel approximately 25% to support project scoping and cross-site collaboration.
