Job summary

Ingredion Indianapolis is seeking a Process Engineer to provide technical support and leadership to meet safety, quality, production and cost goals. Identify, develop and implement process improvements and ensure timely delivery of process engineering deliverables in a multi-functional environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering, strong problem solving and project management skills, and the ability to mentor operations personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering (or equivalent experience/education considered).
• Experience in Process/Production Engineering with strong problem solving and decision making skills.
• Self-starter who can navigate ambiguity, stay organized, and deliver results with urgency and ownership.
• Strong project management capability, including multitasking and effective time management.
• Team-oriented leader with high integrity who can collaborate across all levels, support technical development of the hourly workforce, and use PC tools and statistical data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Utilize lean principles to analyze process conditions and propose corrective actions to ensure cost-effective operation.
• Assist Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting of processing equipment and increase process reliability using root cause analysis.
• Aid in day-to-day operations to meet projected customer demands with quality and quantity.
• Incorporate Safety, Health and Environmental compliance into process improvements.
• Lead or participate in strategic process initiatives and studies and mentor less experienced engineers.
