Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking a Systems Infrastructure Engineer for its Fall River, MA location to manage on-site virtualization, bare-metal servers, and enterprise Linux systems. The role emphasizes VMware ESXi, RHEL on Dell PowerEdge hardware, and Cisco networking for a private cloud environment.

The candidate will support high availability, perform kernel tuning and system initialization, and ensure security configurations align with RMF and DISA STIGs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent full-time professional experience.
• 3+ years of demonstrated professional or advanced practical experience configuring bare-metal servers, hypervisors, and Linux operating systems.
• Technical Foundation: Strong command of enterprise virtualization and datacenter infrastructure configuration and management.
• Agility: Demonstrated ability to pivot between multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade virtualization platforms (VMware/ESXi), ensuring high availability and seamless resource scaling for private cloud clusters.
• Maintain and optimize Linux-based operating systems (RHEL) on Dell PowerEdge servers, including kernel tuning, bootloaders, and system initialization.
• Configure and support physical and virtual networking components, utilizing Cisco hardware for routing, switching, VLANs, and firewall management.
• Diagnose hardware, hypervisor, and OS-level issues across the stack to maintain continuous operational readiness.
• Apply robust security configurations, ensuring compliance with required frameworks across all deployed nodes.
• Create clear architectural diagrams and actionable engineering plans for cross-functional project teams.
