Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) seeks a Linux System Developer for the Fall River, MA location. You will own deep Linux internals, architect and maintain system images, and support a hyperconverged, highly available infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role requiring on-site work with hybrid expectations in Fall River. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in deep systems administration, strong Linux proficiency, virtualization expertise, and a proactive, security-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/IS/CS/CE or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in deep systems administration, engineering, or development.
• Proven experience configuring and managing enterprise server OS and bare-metal installations.
• Ability to pivot between multiple projects in an agile environment.
• Excellent communication of technical details to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with SWFTS.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Maintenance: Develop, customize, and maintain software applications and system images on Linux platforms with deep Linux internals knowledge.
• Hyperconverged Cloud Infrastructure: Run, manage, and debug complex enterprise hyperconverged ecosystems for high availability and scalable resources.
• Enterprise Virtualization Mastery: Design, deploy, and troubleshoot large-scale bare-metal virtualization infrastructure.
• Network Design: Architect and maintain virtual/physical networks including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls.
• Deep-Dive Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex software/hardware issues across enterprise infrastructure.
• Cybersecurity Integration: Ensure robust security measures and compliance frameworks are integrated.
• Agile Collaboration: Communicate designs and steps clearly for cross-functional teams.
