Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Design Quality Engineer to join our Mission Critical Products Portfolio in El Segundo, CA, onsite. You will embed in the engineering lifecycle to prevent defects, ensure quality objectives, and enable cost, schedule, and technical success.

The role requires a current active SECRET clearance, travel to Fullerton, CA, relocation options, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to uphold quality across programs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
• Active/ability to obtain final U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
• Experience overseeing teams in failure and root cause corrective analysis (RCCA), corrective and preventative actions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Compliance to site, business, and contractual requirements.
• Interface with the program quality teams, customers, and Integrated Product Teams, facilitating technical quality and financial performance.
• Monitor and lead RCCA and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and cost reduction.
• Design Quality Basis of Estimate and New Proposals.
• Travel up to 10% to Fullerton, CA.
