Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer or Senior Principal Quality Engineer to join our team in Palmdale, CA (with locations in El Segundo or San Diego). This role requires a US Secret clearance and involves implementing Mission Assurance, leading quality improvements, and guiding program engineering processes from inception to completion.

The position follows a 4/10 schedule in Palmdale and 9/80 in other locations, with relocation assistance may be

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years experience, Master’s degree with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year in STEM.
• Active US Secret Clearance and ability to obtain program access.
• Experience leading process improvement projects and root cause corrective action.
• Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement Mission Assurance principles across the program to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and implement engineering activities ensuring IPT plans meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.
• Execute an integrated mission assurance plan aligned with requirements and stakeholder goals.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to increase NG processes efficiency.
• Investigate quality problems and drive root cause corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and plan resolution for program engineering processes from inception to completion.
