Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. in Peoria, IL, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to build and test hydraulic assemblies, final chassis and power-train components for mining trucks. This onsite role emphasizes reading engineering prints, performing precise assembly, and meeting safety and quality standards.

You will work from blueprints and routings with supervision, contributing to ongoing improvements while ensuring accurate documentation and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic roles or equivalent.
• Experience reading blueprints for assembly/troubleshooting.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Computer literacy and ability to document information.

Responsibilities

• Will perform mechanical and electrical assembly functions including hydraulic equipment, installation and adjustment of components, final testing prior to shipment.
• Works from engineering prints, routings, and procedures with minimal supervision
• Responsible for quality and safety of own work and use of protective equipment
• Under Electrical Assembler direction, may install harness structures, cables and power cables but not final connections
• Disassemble and load equipment for shipments as directed
• May perform light carpentry such as designing, sawing, building boxes, crates and ladders
• Use information systems to perform duties
• Operates equipment and conducts inspections with proper documentation
• May collaborate with Engineering Department on new model introduction or continuous improvement
