Job summary

Avathon seeks a Forward Deployed Design Lead — PLM to own PLM deployments at customer sites. You will map BOM workflows, configure integrations with PLM/ERP, and design end-user interfaces across the Avathon AI layer.

You will work with CAD engineers, PLM admins, and manufacturing teams, driving adoption from go-live to steady-state, with Fridays remote for synthesis and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of PLM implementation experience with client delivery.
• Deep functional knowledge of PLM processes: BOM, ECO, configuration.
• Ability to map as-is PLM workflows and produce specs.
• Strong UX and design execution skills for enterprise apps.
• Experience designing role-based training and onboarding.
• Familiarity with digital thread concepts across engineering data.
• MBSE knowledge is a plus, especially for aerospace/defense.
• Comfort with agile delivery rhythms and client-facing cadence.
• Excellent written communication for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end PLM implementation and configuration at client sites.
• Configure PLM-adjacent modules and data flows across systems.
• Validate integrations between Avathon and client PLM/ERP tools.
• Design user interfaces, screens, dashboards, and workflows.
• Drive user adoption, change management, and training.
• Facilitate discovery sessions with engineers and IT teams.
• Capture requirements and produce implementation artifacts.
